Meet the Pathways High School Principal

Welcome to Pathways High School. I am excited to be a part of the great changes that are happening in the Maple Valley School District. With the passing of the bond, we are able to provide many new opportunities for our students. I am looking forward to expanding on those opportunities and helping provide the best experiences and education for your student.

I have 24 years of service in the educational field, all at Maple Valley. My husband, Bob, and I are life-long residents of Nashville and both graduated from Maple Valley. We have two children, Markelle and Cody, a son-in-law, Michael, and two grandchildren, Colton and Harper.  After graduation I attended Kellogg Community College where I played a year of basketball and started my general study requirements. I then transferred to Michigan State University where I received my Bachelors of Art Degree in Elementary Education. Continuing on with my education, I then completed my Master’s Degree at Western Michigan University in Middle School Education. Since then I have also completed my Administrators Certificate from Grand Valley State University.

As your Pathways High School Principal, I will strive to help provide a positive learning environment for your student. I have an “open door” policy and work to keep the communication lines open. By staying open, honest, and transparent, we will hopefully work together to provide the best educational opportunities for your student. Being a life-long community member has provided me with a vested interest in helping each and every student be successful and grow up to be a great representation of what Maple Valley has to offer.

I look forward to working with you and your student and accomplishing some great things this year at Pathways. Please feel free to contact me any time at dbrumm@mvs.k12.mi.us or 269-838-0040.
