Mr. Maxson - Speech
"The Peach Guy"
I have been a speech and language pathologist at Maple Valley Schools and the Eaton Intermediate Shool District for 32 years. I graduated from Central Michigan University specializing in Communication Disorders in Children with a minor in Psychology. I taught Driver's Ed. for 8 years and have been a Lions Club member in Vermontville and Hastings for the last 30 years.
I'm married to my best friend Roxanna and have 2 grown children: Jacqueline, Richard and 5 grandchildren.
Some of my interests and hobbies include:
- Restoring and refinishing classic wooden Chris-Craft boats like on the movie On Golden Pond
- Classic 50's, 60's, and 70's cars, shows, and auctions.
- Boating
- Growing Blue Spruce Christmas Trees on my tree farm.
- Deerhunting
- Sitting on a Florida beach reading.
My passion is to graduate speech students who have met their goals and objectives in their particular speech area. These areas include: articulation, language, fluency, voice, cleft palate and hard of hearing. A new area of speech concern gaining attention is autism.
I currently work with sixty speech students from Kindergarten through 12th grade at Fuller St. School, Maplewood, and the Jr/Sr High School.
